We believe that God is active far beyond our own community, so we joyfully partner with others who are doing His work – both in our own backyard of Whatcom County and all over the world.
Locally, we partner with the Gideons International, the Lighthouse Mission in Bellingham, the Whatcom County Pregnancy Center in Bellingham, and New Way Ministries in Lynden.
Many people know the Gideons, and even those who do not have more than likely seen their work in placing Bibles in hotel rooms across the country. The Gideons have a singular mission: to get the word of God into the hands of as many people as possible. We believe that this word is living and active, sharper than even the sharpest sword, revealing to us God Himself and His plan of salvation in Jesus Christ, and showing us our great need of Him. We gladly partner with this organization that exalts the living and abiding word of God.
The Lighthouse Mission is a rescue mission in downtown Bellingham. They serve the homeless and poor community in our area. But they do more than meet physical needs; they meet the spiritual needs of the people who come to them as well. They recognize that people need food, shelter, and clothing, but they also know that the food that satisfies is the bread of life, the shelter we need is in God our Refuge, and we need to be clothed above all with Christ our Righteousness. The Lighthouse is a blessing and gift from God to our area.
The Whatcom County Pregnancy Center works to help pregnant women get the medical care and knowledge that they need. They provide prenatal care, ultrasounds, and counseling for pregnant women. Our church believes in the sanctity of human life – from its very beginning in the womb, to the very end. We are glad to partner with a group that values life as we do.
New Way Ministries helps women (and their children) who are caught in abusive relationships and destructive lifestyles. They provide a place to stay, counseling, mentoring, and life-skills training. Their stated goal is “to have every woman leave with a place to live, a means of supporting herself, and a stable home environment for her children.” Because of their commitment to the physical and spiritual well-being of women in need, we are proud to partner with them.
We also support many foreign ministries, including several in Romania, a country that our church has developed a heart for over the last couple of years.
In addition to these Romanian missions, we support two Wycliffe Bible translators in Papua New Guinea, a man working on translating the Jesus Film into new languages, and several children involved with Compassion International.
